the camera


  1. camera obscura is when there is a tiny hole in the wall in a dark room and the image is projected through the hole and seen upside down on the opposite wall
  2. the modern camera took a step forward in the 17th century because isaac newton and christian huygens perfected the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality lenses
  3. a glass lens, a dark box, and film were the parts of the first portable camera
  4. the cameras of then and the cameras of now still have the same basic function, to take pictures as light passes through the lens
  5. digital cameras use memory cards as opposed to regular film
  6. auto mode and program mode are the default modes of modern day cameras they are the same 
  7. the portrait mode blurs outs the background by using the fastest lens setting
  8. the sports mode is used to freeze motion by using the fastest shutter speed possible 
  9. a half press helps with faster camera response time more control over focus and encourages better composition
  10. this symbol means no flash at all, you would use it when the picture does not require flash
