a. opinion pieces only have to show one side of the story, a hard story has to argue with facts and not emotion, an opinion piece is normally told in 1st person 

b. because they arent reporting on events and how they happened they're saying what they think

c. like if somethings closing down and you don't support it, the reasons why something should or shouldnt happen, maybe your opinion on policies and how things are.
